Winter time, fun time

I remember growing up and absolutely hating winter. I hated the snow, the cold, the shoveling, the slipping and the other falling hazards that came with winter. It was strange to me that there were some people who really enjoyed it, I couldnt undertand why? Summer was always the best season for fun. The sun is out till 10 o’clock, you can use a bike as your main sorce of transporatation and of course swimming!
The only reason why I tolerated the winter season was due to the association to the Christmas season. The Christmas season made the winter season less horrific and more enjoyable. When Christmas came to an end and we were stuck with the following months of harsh windchills and crazy snow dumps, that was when I really despised winter.
How do people enjoy the months of January- March in Calgary during winter, well look all around and you will see that most Calgarians, most Canadians enjoy winter for all the winter activities and sports that come with the winter season. Could it be that I hate the winter months so much because I didnt do winter activities?
This year I decided to finally test out all the activities to do outside during winter and to be honest, I dont hate it. Its actually is quite fun, I’m not good but the experince of getting bundled up and attempting to skate, snowboard and hike in snow (snow shoeing) is quite exhilarating.

Since the begining of 2021, I was lucky enough to be able to get a few hikes in and attempt a few trys with snow boarding. I am definitely not good at snow boarding at all however the process of learning has been fullfilling.
Last year felt like my life was on a stand still and because of that, I promised myself that this year I will learn, I will grow and make life as enjoyable as I can by actioning the activities I’ve always said I would do. With that being said, I dont hate winter. I can say I love winter for all the activities I cant do in summer!
